Welcome to Pack 28

Tiger Cubs is for boys in the first grade.  The program centers around 17 big ideas designed to strengthen the family and provide an introduction to Cub Scouting.

The uniform for Tigers consists of a Tiger Cub t-shirt and cap. Also, you will need the
Tiger Cub booklet.   As the different big ideas are completed, you place another iron-on
Tiger Paw on the shirt.  
The Tiger Cub group is headed by the Tiger Cub Coach.  The is a person or can be several working together to coordinate the Tiger Cub activities.  Each Tiger Cub has an adult partner (scout parent) attending each meeting.  Each meeting is headed up by one of the adult partners and taking one of the Big Ideas for that meetings theme or project.  The Tiger Cub Coach role is one of coordination and attends each meeting as well.
A normal progression is that the Tiger Cub Coach becomes a Den Leader after the Tiger Cubs cross-over into Cub Scouts. 
Can you be the one to take the rewarding challenge of leading our young minds.  Scouting is based on the efforts, leadership and commitment of volunteers.

Cub Scouting is for boys in the second through fifth grades.  It is a family-centered program which capitalizes on a boy's natural interests and creates a stronger bond between the boy and his family through joint participation in activities. Parents, be sure to familiarize yourself with the Cub Scouting program by reading the Parents Guide and Requirements Section in the Wolf book, Bear book and Webelo book.  You, as parents are a vital component in the overall Scouting equation.  You may be asked by the Den Leader for some assistance from time to time.  The Den Leader is a parent just like any other parent with a son in scouting.  We are all busy with the same or similar family activities.  Your participation with your son may be needed on occasion.  Doesn't your son deserve your help and attention for success?

                                Navy Blue Cub Scout shirt. (Long or short sleeve)
                                Gold Cub Scout Neckerchief
                                Wolf Neckerchief slide
                                Den # Patch (# will be assigned)
                                Housatonic Council Patch
                                Pack 28 Numerals
                                Wolf Hat
                                Cub Scout Belt
                                Universal Scouting Patch
                                Wolf Book
        

 The  Webelo Scout uniform consists of the following:                                

                                Choice of the Navy Blue or Khaki shirt.
                                Webelo Neckerchief
                                Webelo Neckerchief Slide
                                Webelo Colors
                                Webelo Hat
                                Webelo Book  
                                Den # Patch (# will be assigned)  
                                Housatonic Council Patch      
                                Pack 28 Numerals   
                                Cub Scout Belt   
                                Universal Scouting Patch          

       All of the above are available at the Housatonic Council store located at 326 Derby Avenue in Derby.  
       Remember that the boys will be wearing this shirt for the next 3-4 years, therefore, you may want to  
       consider buying it a little larger so that it will fit for awhile.
