SOAP-BOX DERBY

Soapbox Derby  is held in the Spring usually at the Shelton High School parking lot.  This venue proved to be much better in regards to the speed of the cars as they traversed the course.

The weather is usually nice this time of year with an moderate breeze with bright pristine sunny skies.  Scouts and parents are eager as are leaders in anticipation to watch and participate in a fun-filled afternoon of Soapbox Derby racing.

Hotdogs, chips and soda are available and so is some shade under the nearby trees.  Each den races multiple heats.

Set up of the race course starts at 11 AM with all leaders helping out with actual racing soon following at 12 noon and final awards being presented at 2:30 PM.

This is always a fun-filled yearly event .  After all, it will be one year before the next Soapbox Derby event.
